NEST list of public deliverables
NEST outcomes provide transnational learnings and offer a roadmap for potential methodologies for improving the support of novice teachers. Specifically, the knowledge generated is transferable and scalable to stakeholders seeking to adopt adaptive support for novice teachers within their contexts.

The project’s theory of change describes the interplay between the intended NEST intervention, the mentor outcomes (attributes and competencies), mentoring practices, teacher outcomes and the project’s desired impact on teacher motivation, job satisfaction, effectiveness and retention.
The toolbox of good practices includes a selection of mentoring strategies, resources for use with teachers, and case studies of effective mentoring interventions with novice teachers in disadvantaged schools.
The NEST mentoring framework comprises two major elements: A theory of mentorship and a profile of an effective mentor. Both will be tailored to the context of supporting teachers and student learning in disadvantaged schools.
The NEST core curriculum includes the scope and sequence of mentor learning covered by the NEST intervention. The curriculum gives a structured overview of learning objectives and content, which are aligned with both the NEST mentoring approach and the desired mentor learning.
This deliverable establishes the set of selection criteria for recruiting and selecting mentors, criteria for selecting novice teachers, recruitment and selection steps defined for both intervention and control groups for the seven Participating Educational Systems.
Communication and marketing materials designed and used during the communication of the open recruitment call for mentors, in each of the 5 pilot countries.

Based on literature research and document analyses, it brings a systematic description of mentoring approaches for novice teachers with regard to current mentoring practices in participating countries.
The report presents a description of the design and the instruments for the quasi-experimental evaluation. Further, it provides an account of the implementation of mentor and teacher recruitment strategies within the policy experiment, including a needs assessment for mentoring from the perspective of novice teachers.
The report provides descriptive data analyses on the baseline data of mentors (intervention group) and mentor teachers (control group), personal preconditions, such as teaching and mentoring experience as well as preferred mentoring styles and used mentoring methodology, etc. It also includes an appraisal of the mentoring from the perspective of the intervention group of mentors.
