In a significant step towards improving education in Romania, the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with experts from Teach For Romania, has successfully co-designed and implemented reforms that place a greater emphasis on teacher training and support. This collaborative effort resulted in the enactment of the new Law of Education in September 2023.

The law, influenced by the outcomes of the NEST project, prioritizes mentoring as a fundamental aspect of the teaching career, aiming to enhance both initial and continuous teacher training. The legislation marks a milestone in ensuring that teachers receive the necessary support to improve education quality across the country.

As part of the exploitation of the project, Teach For Romania and the Ministry of Education will be delivering trainings to the trainers from the national Teacher Training Center, aimed to help transferring the mentoring programme at national level.
